    It's her decision alone whether to retire, but yeah it's probably appropriate. There's a woman I personally know who is still working well past retirement, for probably a multitude of personal reasons. Her employer is simply too caring and polite to force her into retirement despite it actually doing damage to the company. I can pretty easily draw a corollary to RBG.

    Getting up there myself, and her politics notwithstanding she's got my compassion and well wishes for recovery ... until you get there most have no idea how falling becomes a constant possibility, and, at that age one to be feared every minute of the day and night. My bet is a family member will intercede at some point in the not too distant future. I'm looking forward to Trump replacing her, though.

    IIRC, the idea of a "for life" appointment was to make Justices harder to fire by the other two branches, mainly to insure fundamental freedoms were protected from tyranny ... it was a nice try.

    She made the comment back in 2016 that she had planned to retire if Clinton won; but with a Trump win she would wait until he is defeated.
