    Is it that bad?
Never seen or handled one, but the review on TTAG seemed pretty good...?

Yeah, they don't have the best reputation. Hickok45's review wasn't bad, but other Youtube reviews show misfeeds and a couple other problems, such as the right slide release not working and the first round ejecting from the mag when inserted with slide open.

OK, now that I got mine, I can share with the rest of the class:

Magnum Research MR9 Eagle Stainless 9mm Pistol

    $379.98 (+$20 shipping).

Look familiar? Damn right it does! Walther provided the frame, and Magnum Research (Desert Eagle) the barrel and slide. What you get is a Walther P99 AS clone, on an actual German made frame made by the guys who designed it, with an American made barrel and slide. Comes with 2 15 round magazines (P99 and PPQ M1 mags will fit!), 3 different size back straps that actually exchange rather than merely clip on, three different height front sights. Sights are polymer white dot, but apparently all the Walther compatible aftermarket sights will work too.

I may give this a try. My Sportsman's Guide membership just recently lapsed. It's the free shipping on any amount I like. They won't publish the wholesale pricing, but will respond to a specific inquiry by email, or so I understand.

Well, if you check, try something like WWB 9mm, 100rd box. See what they ask, and also times 10 as well, to see if it is a better break on quantity.

Wow that's cheap. What's wrong with em?
After one experience with Remington's customer service I vowed to never purchase another firearm from them but that price has me contemplating making an exception.

That would be nice. I have yet to get a polymer pistol but at these prices I pretty much have no excuse.
