Would you prefer Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Lupe Valdez, who favored "sensible" limitations on gun rights such as increased background checks, a ban on high-capacity magazines and some way to remove weapons from Texans who've shown a propensity to settle disputes with violence, be the governor?!? Valdez also opposed Texas' open carry and campus carry laws, and proposed to redirect much of the $800 million the state is spending on border security. Valdez also called for repeal of the sanctuary cities law, giving driver's licenses to "unauthorized" (she refused to use the term "illegal") immigrants, and doubling or more the state's minimum wage.
Some people just like to bitch...
By the way, Valdez got 42.5% of the vote, compared to Abbott's 55.8%. If there's anything to be concerned about, it's that!
