Wrap it tight enough that the paste stays moist. Don't let it dry out. Not a big deal but wet works better. Direct sunlight adds UV light that'll accelerate the bleach. One two wammy.
The bleach alone is fairly powerful. It's not something you want on your hands.
Any darker spots that didn't bleach, means there's still oil in the bone. It's ok as long as it looks cool. Rustic.
Keep the paste off the teeth. Meaning don't smear them down.
After its the whiteness you want. Seal it the bone. I'd use Johnson paste wax. There's probably some modern spray you can buy.
Sign the rear of the skull. A spot where it won't show when it's mounted. Initials are cool.
