I've been a G19 fan for years. I made the mistake of shooting a buddies VP9 last weekend. I have to say I was impressed and with a current retail barely over a Gen5 19 I just may have to get one. Being a leftie, the true ambi controls while not a must, does make me like it even more.

    Why shouldn't I get one?

Because the Glock fanboys will tell you that it's an inferior gun?
All kidding aside, I know someone that has one and they love it. I got to hold it and it just feels great in my hand.

I would also suggest trying a Walther PPQ M2.

I own several Glocks, several HKs including a VP40, love the PPQ.

I still carry my G23, though.

ETA: I'm a lefty as well.
The PPQ has ambi-controls, and the mag release can be switched to the right side as well .

I have one. I love mine.

I got it over the PPQ for a couple of reasons.

    1) Work authorized the VP9 but the PPQ is not on the list.
    2) if you want any aftermarket sights for the PPQ, good luck. If you go on the walther forums you'll find people frankensteining sights. A front from one gun and a rear from another.

Also, the paddle release on the VP9 is better in my opinion than the paddle on the PPQ.

The VP9 is a joy to shoot.

My buddy got one a few weeks back, and we put several hundred rounds through it at my farm.

It feels good in hand, and is accurate. We were hitting a 8” gong at 50 yards with it.

LOL, that was me, and only for the PPQ .22 which is a different gun than the regular PPQ. There are Mepros, Trijicons and other options available for the regular PPQs.

I think it turned out alright ;)

As stated above, H&K hates you.

There are so many other gun manufacturers that appreciate civilian gun ownership and our 2A rights. Why support one that doesn't?

They only sell to civilians for profit, not for the fact that they think civilians should own firearms.

Honestly I put them right up there with CTD and Dick's.

I had a VP9 for a short time. Build quality is very high. Accurate although I didnt care for the trigger. Mags are expensive. I ended up trading for another Glock.

That said, I would buy another one. I also have a Desantis OWB leather holster for a VP9 if anyone wants it. I work in north Plano / frisco area near sam rayburn and if you meet me, I will give it to your for free

I have heard this quite a bit lately. Wish they would change their stance on all of their rifles

Found this salty anti HK rant that I thought was good:

Your Glock 19 and 23 should fit that VP9 holster if you haven't tried yet.
    So should a G26 and G27.

The 19 and 23 I have are a little too short for it, its a thumb break. Might be perfect for a 17 or 22. Ill have to go buy one of each to try it out

Sorry, I didn't know it was a thumb break.
If that's the case, the longer 17 and 22 shouldn't fit either.
