in my mind.....an activist is an IRRATIONAL proponent of an idea or belief.....I sure as hell believe in good stewardship, which is why that trash in the whale stomach is bothersome......but I am not crazy with environmentalism like Greta baby.

    Mowhawk,

I totally get what you are saying, and I too am disgusted by the disregard we show for this blue rock we live on.

Marine animals are dying by millions due to pollution. You don’t need to be an activist to understand it’s wrong and we need to stop and clean this garbage up.

I seriously doubt the folks who are disregarding the OP’s message would want a boatload of garbage dumped on their front lawn, or in the middle of their street. Most of you probably look down at the trash on the side of our Texas roads it’s disgust. Why are the oceans any different?

They also die by the millions in huge nets that catch literally everything...with the undesirables often dead and simply tossed into the sea.

And also shark fin soup...eff anyone who eats this.

Just because we joke doesn't mean you aren't free to pick up all the trash you like.

Those are mostly ropes and nets lost as a byproduct of fishing/shrimping. Not sure how you prevent nets and lines breaking except to not fish.

While America has it's litterbugs, we dump substantially less than many other nations. It's like the one guy on the block with an immaculate lawn while everyone else has knee deep grass, junk cars and old toilets in the yard.

Point I'm making is people fuss but seldom do anything beyond voice their outrage.
Totally agree with you on this...

Irrational can be subjective...but I agree people on the extremes are generally hurtful to causes like keeping shit cleaned up, free speech, gun control, etc. How rational/irrational someone appears is pretty much based on the person's POV judging.

There was a time when folks complaining about extreme pesticides (like DDT) seemed irrational until the science caught up. Same with cigarettes. Will it be the same with Round-Up?

    1. If I agree with their cause they are rational.
    2. If I do not agree with them they are irrational.

If you agree with the above you are irrational.
    What a fine paradox.

    Simple as that!

Already is......as far as DDT......because it is no longer available.....bed bugs are once again a problem.

I disagree......we all have a duty to be good stewards......climate change and most environmental causes are a thin veil used to exert economic and political control over the serfs.

You’re only saying that because they just want to fix the supposed problems with socialism.

Pretty disgusting just to think of how we poison the earth, especially the oceans. Some things are pretty much unavoidable but the amount of trash in the oceans is abominable in my estimation. I think we would be better off to burn it than dump it into the seas.
