Here are a few of my favorites......

    LAR .50BMG
    CZ 550 .458 Lott
    Rem 700 .338 Win Mag

Hopefully a .375 H&H and .416 Rigby in the future.

I like it a lot and it is a beautiful rifle. This one however is a re-chambered (by CZ) .458 Win Mag. It sometimes balks at A-Square 465 grn Lott's but feeds 500 grn Hornady Lott's just fine although I've only fired ten of the Hornady's. .458 Win Mag all feed perfectly.

I would definitely recommend a CZ 550 to anyone....looking at getting the equivalent in .416 Rigby.

Did the A-Square's have too much OAL compared to the Hornady's?

I have the same CZ in 458 Lott. It is a good gun, but I had to rebed the recoil lug. There wasn't much epoxy there and it broke into pieces. I Dremeled it out so there was a thicker bedding area. It has held up fine since.

I've read articles concerning that exact failure Dawico. It seems like it's mostly occurring in the older rifles like mine. Is yours re-chambered too?

I've got about 130 rounds through mine and all looks ok for now although I see what looks like a little "movement" of the action in the stock.

I, like, BIG BORES and I can not lie!
    All you brotha's can't deny!
When a gun walks back with a great big bore,
And a round scope in yo face.
    You get stunned!

    I tried.

    I shot a CZ in .375 H&H today, I think I need to get one. I'm thinking either .375 H&H or .416 Rigby.

The only downfaults I see for the CZ's is the front sling stud on the stock. A barrel band sling stud would be better.

I agree on the sling swivel placement. Luckily a Lott has slow recoil and allows the body to recoil at about the same speed as the rifle...unlike a .375 that, IMO, has a much sharper recoil. I've been bit by swivels on other rifles. My .338 packs a good wallop on it's own!

I'm hoping a 20mm is in my future...I read an article once that stated the 39's were, at one time, less than $100 AND sometimes included ammo!

No sir, I bought mine new about 3 or 4 years ago. It came chambered in 458 Lott but who knows how long it sat on the dealers shelf. I am guessing it has about 100 rounds through it, and I took it apart a while back and noticed the bedding was broken. I don't really have any idea how many rounds it took to break the bedding up, but the bedding was only about 1/8" thick originally.

I have heard some good things about the Lahtis, all but the price. For now I'll have to settle with the CZ 458 Lott, Barrett m99 50 BMG, and the S&W 500 magnum.
