16 hours of training.. wow.
Talk about making this a right only of the privileged that can check out of home and work for that long.
Taking a course on Saturday and Sunday is something only the privileged can do?16 hours of training.. wow.

This is a huge step for that state. People need to realize that they aren't going to make a pro gun, pro 2A, pro open carry, no training for CHL state out of a liberal mecca like Illinois in one fell swoop. Its incremental.
I'm happy for them. Just noting that they did it under duress and made the rules hard on the common folk.Man, glass half empty. They finally passed concealed carry in a state that didn't have it. That's a GOOD thing even if it I burdensome for now. They can always change it for the better next year...
That's what they said 20 years ago in Texas that every street would have regular shoot outs if people had guns. Well it didn't happen here or anywhere else and it won't happen in Illinois either.Quinn said the bill would endanger public safety, and he made a series of proposals to change it.
Classes can be taught on days and at a schedule to accommodate almost everyone. I am not saying I think 16 hours is what should be, but it is what it is.Yes, there are many blue collar jobs that require folks to work weekends. It's a burden.
