And in that statement they say "the moral authority of this organization and our integrity". Yet if you go to their site, it doesn't take long to figure out what they are all about. He was the sacrificial lamb to show how 'pious' they are. Pfffft.

You can disagree all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that tax rates are not what defines a socialist economic system/model.

Socialism requires some type of common ownership of the means of production, cooperative management of the workforce, and controlled markets rather than free markets.

But that's my point....it starts with paralyzing people (primarily the hated middle class) and entire industries/markets through tax policy where there is no other choice but government takeover of said people and industries/markets. It's just the start.

Lots of issues with these reports, subjectivity being a big one.


They also typically do t factor any some serious variables such as lifestyle choices (choosing to eat fast food 6 days a week vs eating healthy by choice or lack thereof).

Much like those who answer surveys on healthcare. People in nations with objectively terrible healthcare will often score higher than 1st world nations with world class healthcare. Nations with much higher survival rates for terrible diseases will score lower despite the healthcare being objectively better.


It almost seems there is some truth to people being happier once removed from the shackles of freedom. Without freedom there is no responsibility. And without responsibility what do you have to worry about? Well, aside from your government jailing you for saying the wrong thing on Facebook or blocking news sites because you might get some disgruntling information that could harm your subjective happiness.


But as they say, ignorance is bliss.

Challenges for all.

Every time we have directed more money to higher education it has simply resulted in an increased per capita. Not hard to figure out.


High speed rail? For what purpose? What would be gained. You might claim cheap transit but your have to ignore that increased cost you just put on fuel in order to pay for the rail. You are attempting to compare the US to nations that are smaller than most of our states and pretend their solutions are in any way comparable.

I also find the insertion of “conscientious” to be very telling in that it attempts to instill the idea that these ideas are “good” or “right” and it’s just a matter of making the investment when in reality many of these ideas have shown to be detrimental (increasing funding to higher education). If you want to consider these ideas it should be done from a neutral viewpoint, not one in which they’ve already been deemed the “conscientious” choice.
