My personal opinion...your posts remind me of a someone trying to sell a timeshare. Walking the fine line of why you need to let it go but why it’s also really great and we really need it.

You also attempt to play to extremely base emotions with pandering about having a “pretty face”, being “caring”, or “conscientious”.

Stating opinion as fact, using obviously biased sources, and typically walking away from any conversation as soon as a holes are torn in the shiny veneer used to cover otherwise cheap and hollow statements in order to avoid further damage to the false narrative you so often try to spread. I find it to be incredibly distasteful and a sign of the type of person I would never want as part of my close community of friends and family. It’s give me the impression of a person who would knowingly mislead anyone in order to promote their own agenda.

    But that’s just my opinion.

Swedish citizens live longer happier lives that Americans by numerous metrics.
I don't want to be just like them, though maybe there is something to be learned by observing and incorporating strategies of other successful cultures???

Has little or nothing to do with how much money is taken home.

How many of us sulk and live brooding, morose lives fantasizing about some imagined benefit from the horrors of a civil war or even just the silliness of state succession ???

    Jus' sayin'........

Nothing to do with what is taken home? What a load of total bullshit.

So giving up the majority of our income, our homes, businesses, the ability to pay our bills and support our families, send our kids to college is supposed to make us happier? Not to mention being a slave to the state for eight months out of the year, hence losing most of our freedoms in the process. I love my life currently, but would start to suck under the Swedish model in a damn hurry. And I'm far from alone. Would imagine you would be in that group as well. But keep believing you aren't. It's cute....in addition to blissfully ignorant unless you're a trust fund baby.

    Good grief......

And do your homework and see how much of their income they actually paid taxes on. Deductions, write-offs, etc. Don't think that someone earning 200K took home 12K.

Ok. I’ll bite. There’s a lot of info widely available on marginal and effective tax rates. Show me hard data on deductions, write-offs, etc., prior to 1986 when the tax code was re-written and the majority of easy deductions were eliminated (to include the most often used real estate depreciation deduction.

From 1942 to 1981, the marginal and effective tax rates for my adjusted gross income and filing status have been as high as 32%, and never lower than 23.5%.

Here’s a nifty calculator that will show your inflation adjusted, historical effective tax rate going back to 1913.

Swedes are so happy, their suicide rate is 12% higher than the US, not including euthanasia (physician-assisted) which is legal there.

We can cherry pick any number of stats to present facts that support our arguments.

Point of suggested research for a couple folks.

1 progressive tax rates. Concentrate on the progressive part.
2 deductions credits and tax planning.

in Tate's book series 299 Days he refers to "Normalcy Bias" I think, as a way to explain the fact that most of us will be caught off-guard because we have a bias that wants everything to be "Normal" and then one day it isn't. Chaos will ensue and eventually there will be a cascade effect caused by the meltdown of one or more systems of government and / or commerce. In the last 3 weeks Boarder Patrol and ICE have detained 45,000 illegals at the border from 52 different countries. This is NOT an accident. This is a funded effort to pack as many into our country as possible. All they have to do is take Texas OR Florida to control all future presidential elections. As I have said before we either win at the ballot box or we will be forced into other alternative solutions or we will live as socialists.

There is enough evidence of an organized conspiracy (planned, funded, facilitated) to warrant an investigation utilizing the CIA and Military Intelligence Assets for foreign involvement, and the NSA and FBI for Domestic Criminal Conspiracy and Treason.

Anyone remember the Killer D’s and the Texas 11?

    And the Killer Bees.......

40 years ago, during the 66th Regular Session, a group of 12 state senators nicknamed the "Killer Bees" organized in the Texas Legislature. From May 18 - May 22, 1979, the Killer Bees hid offsite to prevent the 31-member Senate from reaching a quorum on two bills: S.B. 602, which proposed an early date for a Texas presidential primary, and S.B. 1149, which related to filing fees for primary elections. S.B. 1149 was broad enough that it could be amended to include the provisions of S.B. 602.

According to the The Miracle of the Killer Bees (below), the group got its name from Lt. Governor Hobby, who told a reporter he called them that because "you never know where they're going to hit next." The Killer Bees were Senators Carl Parker, Carlos Truan, Chet Brooks, Ron Clower, Lloyd Doggett, Gene Jones, Glenn Kothmann, Raul Longoria, Oscar Mauzy, W.N. 'Bill' Patman, A. R. 'Babe' Schwartz, and Bob Vale.
