I witnessed what I thought was about the oddest thing in the world today.
Maybe I'm seeing things, but at my age, I am still a pretty sharp tool.
We're wrapping up my 12 year old's birthday party at a "laser tag" park (think dense forest with a softball field next to it), we were all sitting outside waiting for the girls to finish the cake when a guy drives up in the parking lot. Hes about 25 yards away, my "OMG WTF" radar is not up, but I see him out of the corner of my eye. I have our 4 month old puppy tugging about every direction on the leash and I'm also watching daughter and the guests get up and kinda wonder about. Wife is watching too chatting with the few moms that showed up early to pick up their daughter.
This guy walks out of his car, my radar IS ON (* because of dress style alone, sorry to profile), and he has what looks like a white bag with both hands kinda "in it" ... I actually initially thougth, this is too cute, this guy dressed in thug wear, shaven white kid w the stupid baseball cap ... he's gonna feed the only 4 ducks in this tiny water hole, I'll kindly call a pond. That sent a red flag in my mind, but I'm supressing it. My Smith and Wesson is tucked close, 6 + 1 in the chamber and a safety away, but I'm not buried in that thought at the moment.
What does this Foo do? He walks right to the water, pulls out and object in his left hand (I'm thinking yeah, he's gotta toss some bread ...far... right?, to get those ducks to come over, but it's only 25 feet to them, maybe 50 foot wide hole as it is... ) HE TOSSES AS FUCKING HANDGUN. I thot for a few milliseconds in my head as I watch it spin... wow, thats some BLACK bread, but as the sun glissened off it slightly in the slow-motion-roll-over, I recognized the object ...then saw what I thought completely looked like a 45 cal, it was a tank of a gun, not small... an BAM! I snap out of the slow motion and hear a distinct BLURP! like it was at least 5 to 6 pounds and that was no gawd damn burnt toast, it was a hand gun. Make a heavy fake? IDK but it was heavy.
The guy then just walked back to the car. My wife walks up, who heard it, looks at me and says, what did he do? She also saw the confused expression on my face. I said "he tossed a weapon". We both saw his car exit the parking lot and sped off, getting some scratch on the corner.
Got the license, reported it. I don't toss my guns in the pond, lake or whatever. IN addition, I also noticed a van pull up and seem to witness it all and then left after it happened. they were parked parallel in the same direction, facing the water hole and saw it go down, I'm positive.
I might be nuts, but some around us have fewer brain cells. We need to respect these folks and put them in some type of mental care that is permanent and keeps them out of trouble. Anyway... thoughts?
