    Helotes!
Cool. I've just been a bit on edge about edged weapons (pun not intended) ever since Matefrio had that whole thing go down. I really have! It scared the piss out of me. I measured my pocketknife and everything, even though I already knew it wasn't six inches.

    Completely different situation.

Not the first time but I think I have really missed something on the kabar thing....What does a serration on a knife have to do with it being illegal or legal ?

I went back and reread all the posts. I had misread something thinking that serration was the problem. Duh.

Can you please expand on the term "illegal knife"?

From what I understand all knives are legal to own but some are illegal to carry publicly. Is my thinking wrong?

    Penal code 46.01.

Knife with a blade over 5 1/2 inches, a hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being thrown. A dirk, dagger and stiletto. Swords and spears.....

So, shears with say a 6" blade would be legal to carry?
They would not fall under any of those descriptions.

Every time I hear the words "Penal Code" I laugh a little, and I think of restrictions placed on penises.

"Sir, you're not allowed to have that thing in here" or "Sir, please conceal it or we'll ask you to leave" and so on and so forth.
