I did it for a few days. I was so constipated that I was a day away from walking into an urgent care facility. Luckily, I had one of those Suprep kits used to get ready for a colonoscopy. You know how when you drink that stuff you have to make an emergency trip to the toilet in just a few minutes? I waited around for hours before it finally worked.I did the keto for a month
Two bottles of that. Every OTC pill, several times, in excess dosages. Mineral oil. Every powder fiber. Every powder laxative. Nothing worked. I was in minor pain, then serious pain, finally in enough pain that I couldn't imagine 24 more hours. If the prescription stuff hadn't worked, I would have been in a medical facility.I drank some calcium citrate
I tried a keto pizza once. It was all almond flour and LOTS of cheese. It made me very, very constipated. Never again!I did it for a few days. I'm willing to try keto again but if I do I'll also be including at least a quarter cup of Dextrin in my diet every day.
If your buying all the Keto stuff your fooling yourself. When it started none of that was out there and people made it work. Now companies are jumping on the bandwagon and making you think what you are buying is Keto friendly or needed to make the diet plan work. Its not and all it does is line the companies pockets.
When my gut issues were diagnosed, I took 400 mg of calcium citrate every night before bed...for years.

Needless to say, I'm a little gun-shy about keto. Still, I know I'll try it again. The immediate benefits to my blood sugar numbers cannot be denied.
Calcium, or magnesium citrate?
The latter is more commonly used as a laxative.
No problem ... thought you might be on to something.Magnesium citrate...my bad for posting so late. I’ll edit my post.
Keto does not allow fiber? I have diverticulitis and eat a high fiber diet, and can easily do so without consuming the high glycemic index carbs.
When I am at my best physically and weight wise I eat a balanced diet of 40% carb, 30% protein and 30% fat. I avoid the white carbs and pasta, and eat monounsaturated fats. I also consume the calories appropriate for my activity level, weight and bodyfat percentage. What is the Keto percent of carb vs protein vs fat?

I didn't mean to give that impression. Keto, afaik, places no restrictions on fiber.Keto does not allow fiber?

My problem was my incompetent implementation of the keto diet. I made a major change in diet without making sure that I got enough fiber. That was stupid on my part. Next time I commit to keto, I'm going to make sure I take in a ridiculous amount of fiber.
