It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Obrador needs to do "something" to project strength now, or he'll be defending his position against both the cartels and the US instead of just taking bribes as is apparently the norm in that region.

Not nearly as savage as other things the cartel has/does do.

Mexicans will have to rise up to kill the cartels. But with Mexico's gun control, this could be difficult.

I would be surprised if anything is done about this, despite how I feel about the whole thing. Things like this is also why I don't and never have gone to Mexico.

A few cartels could overrun San Diego and be half way to Los Angeles before the California government was finished arguing that fighting a foreign enemy was not a valid use of our military.
Same for El Paso except once they overran the city, where would they go? Who would care? Mexico would probably position their forces to keep them from coming back. One insurrection, one Ranger. (and a few drones armed with hellfire missiles.)
Nevada might be upset they have the Casino.
Would you volunteer to help get El Paso back? Could be an experience.

Thoroughly sick to my stomach. I think a travel ban would hit them in their pocketbooks where they actually feel something. Maybe then the Mexican government will take action.

This is outdated and not the best source of news but it provides a bit of a feel for what's going on down there, specifically with the Mormons.
