My washer is a bit "broken". It only can use hot water. Apparently there's some water pipe broken, which is the cities problem, and I can only get hot water, no cold. Sounds strange to me, especially since I didn't know about it before move in.

deemus always struck me as intelligent, now there's proof.

Seriously you need to learn a little (more) about plumbing, that guyed hoged you big time. Having only hot water could be reason to abate some of the rent during the time frame it happens too.

Dug a bit deeper and got him to admit he didn't know what he was talking about; that he's relaying what maintenance has said.

I got the property manager's info, and intend to speak with him soon.

He says it's the building and another one.
When the washer is set to cold, it's cold for about 5 seconds. The shower has zero cold water. Sinks get cold/cool water.

I told him that this would've been pertinent information before move in. I plan to address that with the manager on Monday.

Yea thats BS. How cool is that? Fade all ur clothes when u wash them and scald ur skin in the shower. This is an issue they should take care of ASAP....like today. What morons.

I have no choice but to wash my clothes, I doubt they'll fade much.

The shower isn't like burning hot. One tick over from off, into the coldest region of the cold setting, is about as warm as I like it. However I typically take cooler showers so this does suck lol.

My younger nephew has recently moved to Dallas from Phoenix, and has an apartment on Cedar Springs. It definitely is in the middle of a big homosexual community. (He isn't gay.)

When you're settled in, we need to have a gathering of DFW folks to give you a proper welcome.
