1911s are addictive. I have 9mm as well as 45ACP models. I enjoy shooting any of them.
The photos of stuck shell cases in the ejection port is common to all semi auto pistols. Most of the time it is a shooter induced problem. I recently bought a CZ P-10c. It failed to eject on all of the first 20 shots I fired. After a good cleaning and a swap to the medium back strap, I have not had another issue.
I started shooting the 1911 back in 1968. Attached is a photo of part of my current 1911 collection for those who won't take a person's word without photo evidence.
As you can see most are by Colt and Springfield. I have a Magnum Research 1911 and a CZ 1911 on the bottom left corner. The upper left is a $300 ArmsCorp 1911. I bought it because it says US Army on the side. It shoots about as well as it's price indicates. The three in the lower middle are my two Wilsons and my Ed Brown. Much better quality.

No wonder 1911's are expensive, supply and demand and you've cornered the market on many.

You will have to take my word for it, unless you can prove otherwise. If you can't they are not mine, then shut up. I do not take kindly to being referred to as a liar!

Sorry about that, I guess you missed the little laughing guy at the bottom of my post.
I was absolutely kidding, just a response to your comment about the requisite photo for non-believers.
I figured everybody knew that was a joke anyway.

My first was a Para Ordnance p13, probably 20 yrs ago. I still have it, never shot it much. It's my only 45. I was wanting a 1911 and saw it at a gun show. I bought a STI Ranger 9mm a number of yrs ago. That is a sweet shooting pistol. The first time I fired it was for my CHL class. It's still one of my favorites

No doubt 1911's are beautiful, but were I to start shooting .45 caliber (and don't because the cost to practice is very high and I practice a fair amount) I'd get a Glock .45. Ugly in comparison...no doubt, but a hell of a lot more reliable out of the box.

I've owned one 1911. A Colt Commander. Completely, utterly unreliable. I know how to shoot semi-autos, so I wasn't limp wristing or anything my fault.

Sorry, but 100 year old technology just isn't for me.
