Dang. I'd be happy too! If I have kids one day, I won't do things like that for them. I'll tell them, "You get a job and pay for your guns like the rest of us chumps! That is, until I die of course, then I won't have much to say if you take mine."
My father was just like that with my older sister. He took her shooting, they had Girl Scouts and other activities. Then WW2 happened. When he returned, he spent most of his time in a chair reading and drinking.
The point is that your son is a lucky kid! You're a great dad and he'll grow up to be a fine adult. Keep doing what you're doing!
