I always thought the old 15 spd with the last gear against the dash was pretty cool but I like the 13 spd. Someday I'll be a real truck driver and drive a 18 spd.Gimmie a 10 /13/18 spd any day

Manuals aren’t dying because of carmakers.
They’re dying because buyers don’t want them.
And not just America, it’s everywhere.
Lamborghini and Ferrari stopped selling them years ago due to lack of interest.
The reasons are myriad, but autoboxes out-perform manuals at the track because a human can’t shift that fast, and the momentary lack of power while shifting kills lap/acceleration times.
Plus more gear ratios so the engine can remain in the power and.
And for some crazy reason, carmakers that do offer manuals saddle them with too-tall final drive ratios.

Congrats on the new car! That's odd cruise control isn't standard on those, tho. Every manual transmission vehicle I've had from the mid 80s and up has cruise control.manual transmission. And cruise control
That's an automatic.both manual and automatic transmission modes
hmm, maybe you're just buying the wrong Toyotas. Pretty sure the Supra and MR2 had cruise controlI think Toyota just started having it as an option on their manuals in the last few years.
My wife has been trying to buy a new RAV4 - No luck yet...
