I was at the Mesquite Gun Show Sunday morning. I met a friend of mine there. He had a Glock G21SF he wanted to try to sell. I had no intention of buying anything, just looking.
Well, that changed when I found three dealers who had new FDE Vickers Gen 3 G17s. After some back an forth negotiations with one fellow, he ended up selling me his new Vickers 17 for $500 + tax. ( $541 out the door )
Up until Sunday morning I had never heard of a Vickers Glock. I have since read it is a joint production pistol between Glock, Lipseys, and Larry Vickers. Two thousand FDE G17 were made this year.
I see the Vickers G17 has a different grip texture than my Gen 3 G19. There is a package of magazine caps and a frame plug included in the factory box.
Are there any other factors that make a Vickers Glock different than a stand Gen 3 G17?
I bought it because I liked the way it felt in my hand and the color.
I liked the final price also.
It was one of those "do I need it? NO. Do I want it? YES. moments!
