A holster in a door was brought up, and an interesting comment was made that I thought I would share over here...

While driving I keep mine the old fashioned way, between the seat and console. I can quickly put it into it's holster on my belt if I were to be pulled over, but then, it's only against the law if you get caught.

I mounted this on the console in my truck, and it uses a magnet to secure the gun. If I were to be pulled over, I can just holster it

and in the event of an accident it might make a nice projectile. Even worse if it was a roll over.

There are "testimonial" videos where they put them on the outside of a jeep and go off-roading, and they didn't budge. I get where you're coming from, but it's not a little fridge magnet. If I'm in a rollover accident, this would be the least of my problems.

Reminds me of almost 35 years ago when radar detectors were made of metal and clipped onto your dash. I was in an accident that totaled both vehicles. My worst injury was from the radar detector flying into my face and busting my mouth. The magnet may be strong and proven with off-roading but a direct impact at 50mph or more would have me a bit worried. Probably a 99.9% chance you'll never see that day but I'm still sheepish about possible flying objects in a vehicle.

Not sure if you are asking me, but I have not even used my magnets for anything yet. I also was not planning on using them in a vehicle. Merely throwing out my .02.

Do you suggest any certain brands for this set up
If you're asking me, any holsters that have a mounting hole pattern on the back to change out moutning attachments. Bladetech, Blackhawk ect. There are also a few purpose made options on the market that are specifically designed for mounting into vehicles.
