Wasn't asking if there is one, I was curious about his reasoning for a .44 Special over a Magnum.

Yes, it's chambered in .44 Special. I could do the Model 69 in 2.75". The GP100 is a bit cheaper (normally). Both are in the wheel house of what I'm looking at. A ~3" big bore revolver in the L-frame size.

It's just something I'm looking at, mainly because having another cartridge to reload would be fun. A nod to Elmer Keith if you will. And the .44 Special is definitely a reloader's cartridge.

I wouldn't even buy ammo for it. I'd setup to reload immediately.

The way things have been going lately, shooting is just something to enable my reloading hobby.
