Kinda exciting here today. Our Electric Co-op has been running fiber down our main road for the last couple of weeks. I was a little doubtful they'd hook us in, as we're about 1/4 mile off that road (after thinking about this, MOST of their potential customers are at least as far off the road). But Friday, there was a crew running the braided steel "carrier" wire right up to our power pole. It was getting late, so they said they'd be out today to run the actual fiber. We have been suffering with HughesNet for months (yes, I have bitched about them more than once here. Sorry). I think the fiber will be a huge improvement and costs less.
Here's the end of the cable, lying in our yard, with a power pole behind it.

    Tell-tell signs you’re a Boomer.

I found myself grooving on the elevator music this morning at the bank, sheese.
