In that thread, the only thing that could violate DMCA is a copyrighted image; the image owner or owner’s agent made the claim. As @benenglish pointed out elsewhere, some people are really protective of where their image is published and they cast a wide and sometimes technologically advanced net to keep track of when and where their image(s) are posted.

There’s a very simply way around that, but most people are too lazy to take the extra couple of seconds to do it instead of copy/paste.
