My husband challenged me to make a bacon maple cake. I can do it, it will just depend when I have the time....

I have no reasons, or any logic for it, but for some reason, I distrust people that are vegans or that don't eat meat. Something just seems off to me about them.

The wife and I ate a restaurant years ago down in Corpus Christie that had homemade bacon cinnamon buns. I got two of them to go after we finished with breakfast. They were almost 6 inches across and almost 2 inches thick. Pure wonderfulness!

That was my first time making them, they weren't quite as big as I wanted but they turned out good. I've done bacon wrapped meatloaf with bacon in it, bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast, bacon mashed potatoes, bacon and chicken mac and cheese; let's just say I like bacon.

My grandmother thought bacon was another seasoning. She always cooked the bacon before cooking the eggs. She used salt pork to season pinto beans and black-eyed peas. She always kept a coffee can on the stove with filtered bacon drippings to cook with. Especially anything that was fried.

We don't have smoker yet; we have that on the list of things we want but right now we are trying to pay my parents back what we borrowed to get our house finished, so no big purchases for a while. We had crab stuffed jalapenos wrapped in back for our anniversary, they were so good!! I've grilled meatloaf. It was really good!

I like to use bacon grease or butter Crisco to fry my food usually.
