I use autozone to buy my oil but that's about it. I've went there in the past when I needed a few items for my old 87 Corvette and talking to those people made it clear that they didn't know anything about car parts.

They suck. Parts don't fit and counter staff aren't much help.

AZ may be different now but they lost my business 10 years ago. I go to O'Reilly's mainly. Been happy with them.

Why you hate AZ?

Its like this -

AutoZone is where I go if I know what I want off the shelf, and I don't feel like going anywhere else. The staff pretty universally are worthless. I've never walked away from a conversation with an employee having a problem resolved or correct part in hand.

Advance Auto is pretty good. Decent prices, the staff can be hit and miss depending on the store. But I can always talk them through what I need and they pick up pretty decent.

Oreillys seems to have staff who know what they're talking about, but I seem to get frustrated with them a lot. I'm still trying with them though.

Napa is the store for your professional. Their stores always look like shit, but their staff are generally great at finding the most random parts. You need a brake assembly pulled from a 1968 trailer? They will track it down. You need a bearing for a blade spindle off a zero turn mower? They can size it and get it to you. The place has lousy self pride, but damn, they're good at what they do.

Yea, same here. Can't beat those prices. I get my filters at advance though. The premium house brand is a good price and made by WIX.
