I had a 1964 Chevy Pickup six cylinder 3 on tree over 250 K miles . It was up North so the Body rotted so much it became a low rider. I think any Vehicle with a column shift would be just about Theft proof these days.

My dad was a mechanic and had his own shop and fixed up a 49 ford as my first car. I only got to drive it when I got my learner's permit, so I actually learned to drive a column stick shift before floor stick or an automatic. My dad died before he put the car in my name, so my evil stepmother sold it and kept the money.Almost any stick but I fondly remember driving work trucks with a 3 speed on the column. I recall my grandparents retrieving a car in storage back in the early 80's. One of their mother's cars - late 50's Chrysler with a push button transmission. Hadn't been driven in years but someone did basic maintenance on it and they drove it from Texas back to Phoenix.
