What are some good ideas for a healthy breakfast on the go.

I've been eating 7/11 sausage and biscuits but figure I can do better. Switched to fruit cups but they aren't exactly filling. So what are some easy ideas for a good breakfast on the run?

We did something new the other day, took eggs, sasuage, bacon bits, potatos and a little bit of cheese thrown in a muffen pan and baked ar 350 for 25 mins. I think they came out to around 200 calories. they warm up ok as long as you don't nuke them to long.

belVita breakfast biscuits. Whole grain and you can get the shitton size at Costco. Spread some peanut butter on them and you got healthy nutter-butters

Did you add all ingredients raw, or just the egg?

That looks like it could work great.

precooked everything in a skillet but the egg and cheese.

    here is what we used
    9 eggs
6 oz of jimmy deans sausage
5 slices of thick cut bacon
    4 large russet potatos
    1/2 cup of cheese

    cooked the meats and potatos
cracked all the eggs in a boal and added salt and peper then scrambled
seperated them into 16 1" x 2" squares and backed at 350 until the egg is done.

we just kinda pulled this out of our ass. i Think il add spinich next time i do it.

Boil your eggs a few nights ahead of time and leave the shell on until you're ready to go...

    2 boiled eggs
4 small wedges of white cheddar cheese
    1 handful of grapes
    1 apple sliced into wedges
1 tbsp peanut butter (for the apples)
    1 granola bar

I love this and it's fairly portable.

I don't eat breakfast until 9 if possible. Sometimes when I'm on the road at 5 I eat just before 8.

Drink enough of water in the morning. I eat fruit from our fridge, drink a skim milk, and either turkey jerky, jimmy deans d-lights, oatmeal, or a protein shake. Sometimes when I'm really in a rush it's just coffee and a protein shake. I have coffee only 2-3x a week in the morning.
If you drink enough water you don't need to eat as much in the morning so I can make it on a protein shake or fruit. Trying to push breakfast at 9 keeps my snacking between 9am and supper.

Nearly any fruit is good. Some is worse than others but it's pretty much all good.

Except grapes. They're little bags of sugar without enough compensating fiber.

To the young and healthy - Ignore this post. Grapes are fine for you.

For us diabetic oldsters, though, it's a different story.

I'm not diabetic, but I do know that some fruits are higher in glucose than others which can cause diabetics trouble. Are grapes that high?

Among the common fruit you can buy at the grocery store, grapes are the worst and strawberries are the best. Both have sugar but the ratio of sugar to fiber (which helps ameliorate the impact of the sugar) is really poor with grapes - high sugar, almost no fiber.

Got healthy kids? Throw 'em grapes. They're a heck of a lot better than pixie sticks. But when you get to a point in life where sugar intake is a really big deal, something you monitor with a meter by sticking holes in your skin all the damn time, you start to pay attention to even the little things.
