Opinions on Wichita Falls VA Medical Center

If I move to Graham I understand that is the closest one. I currently see the VA here in CA at their Loma Linda location and have overall been very pleased with the service/treatment I have received.

Depends on the service you need. I know a few veterans and some use it while others drive either to dfw area or Lawton.

Thanks for the reply. Are you able to expound on it at all? For example, do they travel because the service isn't offered in WF or because it is substandard?

One is a prefrence thing the other is service not provided but I don't know the particulars. I know the base downsized from a full hospital to just a basic clinic.

I think I found part of the reason. I hadn't noticed the WF VA is just a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) and not a full blown VA Medical Center as I was thinking. Lawton is also a CBOC while DFW has a VAMC.

I don't believe the Base downsizing has any affect on VA patients as we aren't allowed to use it unless we are retirees.
