I had bounced law language off Ted Cruz's office once when Robert Francis O'Rourke was running against him .. Something along the lines of "The Common Sense Gun Violence Prevention Act" If you are convicted in any competent court in any state: using a firearm in any crime, or being in possession of a firearm in commission of a crime, Federal Statue requires the death penalty.Oh come one now that would be easy to create. Let's see, you are convicted of murdering someone - you get the death penalty - that will stop you from ever breaking the law again just because you are dead. I should be in politics.
As I put it to the Cruz staff, I realize it would never fly, but since at the time Democrats and O'Rourke and the Demos were screaming for "Common sense" gun violence laws.... submit that bill in the Senate and when the Demos scream!! Start the ball rolling to expose their anti gun stance, not anti violence... Never would happen, but great theater none the less
