President Trump wouldn't be bullied by the 'deep state' and that drove them mad...why should he be different.

All previous Presidents left 'deep state' fiefdoms alone, but President Trump not only didn't leave them alone, he laughed at them...mistake.
Although it's true, I don't think he did enough, but you have to realize he was under constant pressure. Russiagate was almost never ending, and the opposition was doing everything they could to make him look bad. The sheep that believed everything from corporate media truly believed he was a despot looking to destroy America. Had he been able to truly vet those within the executive branch, he possibly could have done more. Remember, although many republicans never came out directly against Trump, he had quite a few opposing him as well. The D.C. club were thoroughly against Trump, because they are the swamp.

RussiaGate started even before he took the oath of office. They were already starting to talk about impeachment right after he was declared the winner of the election!

Those right there were very clear indicators of what he was going to be facing in the coming years as president.

IMO, one of Trump's biggest mistakes was not getting rid of all the Obama holdovers and anyone that showed any loyalty to Obama, or the Democrats.

Sure, I’ve heard of him. But you aren’t giving any examples for comparison. And if it’s an outlier then it just goes to prove the point that this was not a typical election where there may be some limited fraud to overcome. For all we don’t know, the voter fraud could have been historically massive. The door was open for it, the numbers are there, but in almost every case any attempts to get evidence are blocked.

FWIW, I not sure fraud was the main or only driver behind Trumps defeat. IMO it was the massive media and social media campaign against him. What he did really made no difference as anything on TV would twist his words, run hit pieces using unnamed sources with not evidence to support them, block anything which refuted the narrative, fact check some stories as completely false if anything was even slightly incorrect but others mostly true while being pure fiction, regular TV programming was using fictional caricatures of Trump supporters as stand-ins for murderers, racists, and terrorists, and it goes on.

Trump had more to overcome than any other candidate in US history before the possibility of outright voter fraud is even considered. And I honestly don’t think keeping him off Twitter would have changed that. It was a coordinated attack by just about every mainstream source of information or entertainment in the country, and all of it directed at one man.

Look up the news stories about how LBJ stole an election in 1948. That is an example.

Agree with the media campaign being a big factor against Trump. But you have to admit he gave them a lot of cannon fodder.

But the media also railed against W and against every R candidate for some time now.

    Oh, get off it.

That kind of gross exaggeration and character assassination is what liberals do. Conservatives should not do it.
And you wondered why I got a bit sarcastic with my previous reply. Because compared to many here on this forum, I am somewhat of a liberal. My mother was a liberal. Even my uncle was somewhat of a liberal. But what they, and I are not, are socialists, or communists. My uncle spent two tours in Vietnam fighting commies!

You keep bashing Trump as if he's the reason for all the bad things that have happened. As if he is the only reason he lost the election.

Do you believe Obama did things better? Is Biden doing better?

Ask yourself this honest question, would you rather have Trump back as president, or continue down this path we are going with Biden?

    Oh?

You mean "DRAIN the blame SWAMP!"?

Bunch of hidden "dead wood" up there in DC....rotten to the core....

I ............ do not think Mr. Trump could "drain the swamp".... it is much too "entrenched"......worse than cockroaches... :banghead:

    Just my two cents...

He is a businessman and not a politician, therefore plenty of mistakes were easy to make. But he did what we have wanted for decades a leader, to fightback. If Republicans had done the right thing by calling out the Dems for their lies and propaganda over the decades we would not be in this Democrat reality distortion field.

Actually I was referring to many of them hanging around the White House. Comey, and many of his underlings should have been fired the first day Trump took office. Same thing over at the CIA as well. He also should have cleaned house in the DOJ as well.

To be fair, I don’t believe having a criticism of Trump is equal to thinking it would be better with any of the Dems, or even that Trump was a bad president. It’s simply acknowledging what he views as a fault that hurt him.

That said, I don’t get the name calling. But I don’t even do that much with the Dems.

I would settle for cleaning out the bureaucrats. How many politicians, civilian and military, have gotten high paying jobs with companies through lobbyists after leaving service? No quid pro quo to see here.
IIRC, that was one of the things Trump wanted to do. Clean up the lobbyists in DC. Make new rules for those seeking to become a lobbyist.

I can't remember all the details now though.
