    So said the guy who signed the Gun Control Act of1986.
    As far as I can remember, it was reported at the time that he offered to veto FOPA but the NRA told him to go ahead and sign it. In the eyes of the NRA, all the poison pill provisions the Dems had stuffed into the legislation were not outweighed by the good it was supposed to do.

    Your broader point, though, remains valid. Reagan had a record of being way too squishy on 2A issues.
