So I have posted about the liter bike I had owned several times. I just traded it in on a Honda grom. It is a 150cc mini bike. I am moving from DFW to college station this weekend and have a rent house 2 miles from work. No need for a highway machine. I will be tearing up the city in style.

I will toss up some pics in the what I did to my vehicle thread as I have already ordered some parts for it.

Not sure if I posted this one up or not. I have told the tale before of me being a Mercedes guy. I snagged this one from the shop a couple months ago. It is a 2007 Mercedes R350. It was Mercedes attempt at a grand touring vehicle...... mini van ish 6 seater. Got it for a steal at $1750. Total of $2100 tax, title and license. It had sat for almost a year at the dealer pending getting a title. Long story short, no key and high miles lead to it being abandoned. It currently has 214,000 miles on it.

After I got it, I put $1300 in parts at my cost and a weeks labor every night after work by me at no charge to me. Did all major services. Oil change, air filters, spark plugs, front and rear diff and transfer case fluid. Transmission service. Resealed the steering rack and gave it an alignment. Pulled the transmission and did a rear main seal. I also fixed a couple oil leaks on the engine that are common for this V6 engine. Top that off with a new pair of rear shocks that started leaking after it hung in the air on the lift for a couple days.

I finished it up with tint on the front windows and a detail to clean it up then I gave it to my wife. It is a good kid hauler as we have 2 still in car seats. She likes it more than the Tahoe.

All said it was probably 10k worth of work at full shop rate. It should last a couple more years. I would like to push it past 250k miles.

I like weird stuff. I always liked the MB R350. Awesome that you can maintain it. I like hatchbacks and wagons but they just aren't popular here.
