If you use that who's name shall not be spoken but who's initials are BOS, not to be confused with bunch of shit, make sure you are clear up front with any requirements. People hate suprises and hate floating personal information out into the world.

I'm new to Texas (DFW area) and I been reading the private party sale of firearms and I had a couple questions about it:

    1. Is it more common practice that firearms are sold through private sales done face to face or by FFL?

    2. Is there a limit on how many handguns and/or long guns can be sold per year?
My understanding is there is no limit on the number of sales you can make.

Like anything the .gov is more concerned about any profit you make.

If you buy a gun -to resell it for profit- you are moving into the dealer catagory and possible legal issues if caught and do it enough to get on their radar.

Paperwork is proof of guilt so avoid it.

The law states you have to sell to a Texas resident and you can't know the buyer is not legal to own it.

Check an ID if you want but don't make the process any more complicated than it needs to be.

    A scenario:
You buy a gun from a friend, or inherit it from a relative, use it for hunting, etc. for several months or years. A friend of a friend admires your gun while you are hunting with them. He asks you how much you would sell it for. You tell him a number that was more than you paid for it. He accepts. No paperwork takes place. You have not committed a crime. You are NOT in the business of selling guns.

What if you buy 20 guns, from 20 friends, then sell them all for more than you paid for them, several months later?
