    From the article...

"Uber prohibits riders and their guests, as well as driver and delivery partners, from carrying firearms of any kind while using the app, to the extent permitted by applicable law.”

I've never used any ride share crap, but is there any way for them to enforce this?
    Sounds basically like a request.
Or is it comparable to 30.06/07?

I have heard that too several years ago. I'm curious as to how they could enforce such a policy. They don't own the vehicle. All they are providing is the customer ride information and location.

And after all, Uber says they are not employees - just private contractors.

No way they can make that stick.

Exactly. IIRC, because you own the vehicle being used and also not an employee, it's how they also get around some of the tax laws, and some of the city ordinances when they apply to having a "hack license" in some cities.

From my understanding, for a percentage of the fare, they are just providing customer information and a location of that customer.

And now the press is between a rock and a hard place. They've been portraying Airman Washout as some kind of hero and being careful to mention how he gallantly "left the Air Force to take care of his disabled girlfriend" but now...now it turns out his intended victim is an active duty combat veteran. Do they try to paint a soldier as a psycho and risk the backlash?

Also, anyone notice the way the female talking head said "Garret didn't. Fire. A shot."

    Bitch, he didn't. Have. To.

Raising that rifle was a deadly threat that justified Sgt Perry's response. If Perry had waited for a shot to be fired, the wrong person would be dead now.
