...isolated incidents at Ruby Ridge and Waco...The rhetoric flying in D.C. is at all-time levels. Accusations of socialism, talks about the Constitution, and what appears to be more people taking an active interest in politics than any other time in my lifetime. The growth of the Tea Party, and the republicans feeding some of the fears in order to garner support. An "us vs them" mentality is the current message across the conserative air-ways.
Isolated incidents? The government killing it's citizens? You can down-play that??
Accusations of socialism??? How can you possibly NOT see socialism in the current government???
Republicans feeding on fears?? I can't defend the Republicans; they suck. But if this government doesn't make you afraid when they bypass the Constitution to pass law, they you simply aren't paying attention.
You tin foil hat has an I*heart*Obama sticker on it.
So what flavor was the Kool-aide?
Since you bring this up, I want to point out that it's rather prudent to include entertainment in your "SHTF" preparations. Obviously a library of DVDs is useless to you if you have to bug out, but if you "bug in" gathering the family around the boob tube at the end of the day may be the only semblance of sanity you'll be able to get. Keeping moral high is imperative to making it through survival situations. I already have lots of guns and ammo and canned foods. If the world ends and people are raiding the grocery stores for the last of the food, you'll see me across the street raiding block buster, lol...Proper preparation for most is DVR'd recordings of Seinfeld...
This is normal. One "Christian" who blows up a an abortion clinic is a religious zealot, domestic terrorist, while 19 Muslim extremists who kill over 3000 people are simply misunderstood. The "Christian" militia was probably a lot of other things; predominately white, from a particular region, same socioeconomic class, etc., but the media chooses "Christian" because there's an all-out assault on Christianity -- not "religion!" Christianity! When the atheists make fun of people and their "mythical sky gods," do you think they're talking about Muslims? Hell no!
Yes, we're being setup. We have been for years. Obama illustrated this point when he referenced those who "cling to their guns and their Bibles." Did you noticed how the term "Evangelical" was tossed around in the '08 presidential primaries as a derogatory term? The left sees Christians as idiots, but they revere the Muslims. If the basis for this disdain was simply their belief that there is no God, wouldn't they denigrate the Muslims as well? Why don't they? Well, first, they know that the Muslims wouldn't put up with their criticism and they'd be the target of the next fatwa. More importantly, they simply hate Christians. It's personal.
um... yes, actually. You just hear atheists complaining about Christianity more than other religions because here in the US it's the dominate religion. When the atheists make fun of people and their "mythical sky gods," do you think they're talking about Muslims?

BTW, Allah is a moon god, not just some random sky god, lol...
