Nothing as satisfying as getting something out to use and finding you need to go to plan B! Especially when there is no plan B.

I just sent Revision Eyewear a copy of these pictures to see how they respond.

Decomposition! Open the case they came in to pull them out. They just crumbled in my hand. They were just fine 4 months ago!

That's why it's nothing but metal mags from now on. No more pmags.

It is weird it "detroriated" in different areas. Looks like they got crunched to be honest. Hope they send you another pair

You make a good point, but even the metal AR mags have plastic parts..., unless you know some that don't.

Plastic degradation is why I still keep steel guns, but even my 3rd gen S&W mags have plastic followers and most have plastic baseplates. For rifles, I guess it's a good argument for classic battle rifles with really all steel mags.

Honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with plastic... I especially hate it when it has any exposure to the sun...

That's not plastic its a soft rubber. Looking at it there are no signs of it's decompositionLooks like the did new, other the crumbling when touched.

Do you mean the fingerprint on the top picture top lenses, or the picture were the lenses is held in place by the rubber frame?

No idea what that is, but if it crumbled without force you have 3 likely possibilities. Heat, UV or Ozone.

Best guess is the rubber compound reacted to your oils and failed.
