Here's the way I see it. Ignorance is bliss... The country elects Obama because we don't want another GWB. The country will elect a republican because we don't want another Obama. This cycle will continue for sometime. Our two party system refuses to help any of its constituents and soon we will be at an epic moment in our country's political history when we need to choose between progress and tradition.

The problem if that scenario plays out is that the damage incurred by those Democrat administrations will be irreparable, and then we all lose.

this is my motto. "Politicans are evil. America as we know it will soon collapse. Buy ammo and toilet paper."

If Obama wins a second term I will guarantee you the dollar will collapse and be worthless, and you will be using it to wipe your butt.

A vote for Ron Paul is simply a vote to re-elect Obama. Paul has zero chance and the guy is a nut. Anybody naive enough to believe we will get a true statesman ever again as president is living in another world

It's going to happen regardless of who is in the Oval office... People just like the idea of being able to blame it on the first black president...

Don't worry. Our interventionist foreign policy is more important than being financially solvent and paying our debts. Besides, the FED will continue to QE the hell out of the dollar til it's worth nothing so we only have to pay back the Chinese with paper.

Pay no attention that all of this means you can't put food on your table because:
    (1) of the looming tax increases taking what's currently left of your income and
    (2) inflation causing any savings you have in $USD to be worthless and food prices to continue shooting up (or quantities/packages to get smaller)

We need drastic change just to hedge this, it's still gonna hit no matter what we do. I really don't think people comprehend the shitstorm we're in. I don't get people dismissing "extreme" candidates and wanting to vote for the "same old."

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."

Paul is a nut. That's an unsubstantiated assertion. If a policy is disagreeable, let's chat about that. Palin is not trustworthy. That's another unsubstantiated claim. Is it that the MSM has shouted loud enough that folks are unable to think about the stated positions of either candidate? A female Rush listener explained it as feminine jealosy; she's better looking than most of the soccer moms out there. It makes as much sense as anything else I've heard.

It's comments like this that become self-fulfilling prophecy. Ever wonder who starts these myths/propaganda? Those that want the status quo that is who.

I didn't vote Ron Paul last election and look what good that did.

I didn't vote for him because I didn't know anything about him. I have since researched his voting record and listened to his speeches and interviews. Now that I am no longer ignorant I will definitely be voting my conscience and for who I KNOW is best for the country at this time.

I recommend before spouting off that he is a crack pot and other slanderous comments that you just spend some time on youtube (the free press of the modern age in my opinion). You will learn just how far off the mark you really are.

I was almost with ya there - until you brought up the fame hungry idiot.

I admit, I misspelled her name. On the other hand, why do we so quickly dismiss a valid candidate that the MSM set up for an ambush? They employ the Alinsky model to isolate, demonize, and denigrate (do things like call people idiots) to threats to their ruling order.

Palin is an intelligent, educated Pol, who ran against an intrenched and corrupt (Republican) REGIME in Alaska and won. She did not quit; she resigned in the face of insurmountable pressure of the MSM, even though she did more for Alakans than any previous governor.

Her resignation saved the tax payers of Alaska untold thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs to defend allegations that liberal interests later could not prove. Where was the conviction of malfeasance? It never happened. They just wanted to run her out of office. She learned her lesson, that when outsiders pile on, it will be a hard fight. No consideration of her family situation exacerbated by the witch hunt.

Reagan lost in his first primary bid for President, but persevered and swept Jimmy Peanut in a Land Slide.

Palin is no idiot, but a patriot then unschooled in the realities of "mainland" DC politics of personal destruction.

Mc Cain did not do her any favors putting her on his ticket. He set her up: After he picked Palin, the Press ignored Mc Cain and went after Palin, her family (previously off-limits), and BS scandals involving her ex-brother-in-law. It was classic Clintonian politics of personal destruction. It was a shameful attack by all elements of the Liberal/Socialist/Progressive Establishment: MSM, Hollywood, TV Entertainment, and the Brady Campaign.

When G.H.W. Bush picked Dan Quayle, no on noticed. Not even Republican Voters. O.K., fine, he's the candidate's choice for V.P.
It was not until Quayle was sworn in, did the MSM go after him, call him an idiot, only because he was more conservative than Papa Bush.

Palin never had that chance. The MSM (the "Complex") made sure of that.

She may not be the ideal VP candidate, but no one else is a better fit for a Perry/Palin ticket. (The two largest States that really matter in terms of space, employment, natural resources, and a like-minded pro-business, educated center-right electorate).

Finally, that "fame hungry idiot" embarked on a trip through the heart of BLUE COUNTRY because she learned that we can only confront evil by driving deep into the heart of evil. Any name recognition and good will derived therefrom is a bonus. She was not campaigning for President, but to restore her good name and to remain available as a viable VP candidate.

    Be well, Sir!

    Believe what you like.

I believe Palin is an unqualified quitter who is drunk on the search for money and fame.

Should the Repubs be stupid enough to nominate her again as VP candidate, I'll consider voting third party.

This by far has gotta be the DUMBEST thing ive ever heard thus far on this forum. I myself HATE the situation our country is in. AND dislike our POTUS not because he's BLACK, but because he's a F--KING IDIOT!!

I didn't say that I agreed with the thoughts... I did however give some internet space time to the thought that there is a conspiracy that since our government was already failing, that there needed to be a scapegoat had...

I think the country failing wil prove two things, 1)it doesn't matter who's in the white house dem or repub shit's going to hit the fan and we're all going to be covered in it and 2)not a thing that they say on the campaign trail will mean a damn once they step foot into that office (then again the second has been true for quite some time)... HOw many times has education been at the forefront of an election and look how royally fubarred it is in its current state...

Excellent way to reelect Obama.!!! I grow weary of hearing people call conservative candidates crazy, stupid, etc, your simply playing into he main stream media game. Look watch various brands of news and select someone the main stream media does not like. Certain they will marginalize any Christian, white, conservative as stupid, crazy, etc. Why do they consistently speak well of Romney perhaps because they under stand he is a progressive.

So if you want another progressive in office join the media in there love fest of progressive, liberal, socialist candidates.

Note where candidates went to school who there friends were, do they have family around any sell drugs on the street or other bad records, morals, values, standards do count, some of the most corrupt untrustworthy people I've worked with in my life were highly educated, so all in all I will trust an honest person no matter how they look or speak over an educated crook. We must remove the America Idol game from politics with 5 second gotcha crap to get a good person in office.

Good intentions don't mean a thing if you don't know what you're doing. We need someone who understands business and economics if we want to avert disaster.

I'm tired of Republicans trotting unqualified people out there and calling them Conservative when they aren't.

Just a reminder, we are a Republic, not a direct Democracy. You don't vote for Presidential candidates you vote for Electors they just don't usually put the Electors names on the ballot. Electors choose the president. The State of Texas determines how we pick our 34 Electors. For example, in Texas it's all or nothing based on popular vote but in a couple states the Electors get split based on popular vote.

I wish a spot as an Elector from Texas (and all states) required a real education on economics, history and political science and were not handed out as "loyalty rewards."

I'm sure most of you already know this, just bringing up the point that there should be more vetting of electors.

Having worked for the Texas prison system, I have strong ties to them. The folks at TDCJ absolutely hate Perry's guts! There are lots of issues but summed up...............many promises made, many promises broken. That is real cause for concern for Perry as a candidate. Forget what he says. Look at what he does.

Palin has nice body and if she gets into office and screws us, it could at least be pleasurable. That argument is as good as any. Go with the hooters.

+1 and I did it last election. Thankfully I live in Texas where I knew my protest vote wouldn’t make a difference.

Some people may think she's qualified and some people may think she's a joke. For me, the real answer doesn’t matter because after the MSM had their way with her, she's damaged goods in the voting public’s eye. The only thing that comes out of a Palin nomination is another 2 years of belittling coverage of her and any republican associated with her.

As to the subject of this thread, thanks but no thanks. Granted, by the time we get a chance to vote in the primary, it won’t matter anyway. We’ll just get to crown whatever person the first few states decide will be the R candidate. Even then, in the end, it won’t matter. Short of the POTUS shooting his dog on the front lawn of the White House in front of the TV cameras, we’re going to be stuck with him for another 4 years. The only thing we can hope for is that the POTUS’s voting blocks don’t go straight ticket D and wipe out the gains we had last year or prevent the R’s from taking back the senate.

I am all for a female candidate. Hell, the right one might make all the difference. I want somebody serious about the job... not one that might decide to quit if a TV offer comes along.

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but to count W against Perry because they are both from TX is just false. W was born in CT! I know he was Gov. here and claims TX (who wouldn't if they could!!) but he is not actually from TX.

As a lifelong Texas republican, I can without a doubt say I would NOT vote for Perry. Personally I am leaning toward Mitt Romney, unless he screws up or someone better throws their hat in the ring.
