Recently I had the time to build a few low-budget Lone Survivor clones (Luttrell & Axelson).

Don't have the designator / M203 / other bling, but for well under $1k (and with decent groups) I'm not complaining...

And a poor man's Axelson clone:

Replaced the stock on my M1C. Sad to see it lose the GI stock, but it got a crack in it and was afraid to damage it further.

I drunk ordered this SIG 716i tread for what seemed like a really good deal, at the time.

Not really needing another 7.62 AR pattern rifle I decided to go with a "knock around" battle rifle style build. At least that gave me an excuse to pick up the ELCAN SpecterDR 1.5x6.

Only thing I changed from factory original are the stock and selector, and eventually a new trigger, when LaRue gets caught up.

Welp, I love my M1A and yea I ninja'd the SHIIIIIT out of it, but I think it has what's necessary and nothing more. I almost taped a katana to it though... Anyway, so far I can hit a barn from 5 yards. I'm getting better.
