Ive had some bad experiences with Ruger Americans but it seems like everyone else on here has had good luck with them besides you and me. Glad the savage is working for you
i've never had a savage that wasn't a shooter. The 22" mcgowen barrel and the tight headspace i gave it make it even more of a shooter. That said ive never met anyone face to face who didn't have buyers remorse with ruger, including their precision rifle line up.

My 308 patterned like a shotgun until I made handloads for it. Now it is just at half moa. My 300wm got sent back and was replaced. The bolt would be stuck worse than a mosin after every round. The new one is good and shoots under moa with factory and handloads

That said, lesson learned when it comes to Ruger. I stick with their 10/22s and I am much happier for it

i gave up on ruger 10/22s as well. reliable yes, accurate, eh, not as good as it should be in the price point they sell for.

I have a 6803 .308 and it shoots lights out. 2.75x Burris. Shoots 3 MOH (minute of hog) all day long. It’s my favorite rifle hands down. Checks all the must haves as a last resort rifle. The Jeff Cooper Scout Rifle concept is the solution to the eotwawki one gun conundrum. Prove me wrong!

That's a slippery statement. I have no experience with Ruger's American line but I have had excellent experiences with Ruger's M77 Mark II's. One in 22-250 and another in 25-06....not to mention multiple 10/22's, SA and DA revolvers, and semi-auto pistols. I'm not saying they are perfect but they are a reputable manufacturer.

Ditto. I own a treasured 22 Hornet M77. Sub MOA is a fact. Leupold 2-8x VXII. All day long.

like i said, i, myself, personally, have never met someone happy with a ruger rifle. Just people online. Just my personal experience. That said i loved my GP100 .357. Always thought the 77/22 was a beautiful rimfire, yet never owned one. Ruger is just not for me, especially after dealing with their customer service.

The 3 Amigos. The top one set the 1000 yards service rifle iron sight at Bayou Rifles. The middle won the Arkansas State High Power Championship against bolt guns and space guns. The bottom won a LEG match in Louisiana.and Puerto Rico. The Woodland camo ones were built by the PWS RTE at Quantico. The top was used by a Palma team member back in the day, re-bedded in a McM by Art Luppino.

My favorite platform. I even cranked out a barrel from a blank for hunting. Scope mount is a Navy designed SSR. You can see the front mount is a ring sandwiched between the barrel and the receiver. The best M14 mount.

My suppressed 77/22 is movie quiet!
