I tried logging at first but it got too tedious
when buying a used handgun, outside of appearance, only 2 things should be judged
1) Rails - gotta make sure the rails on a anodized/parkerized/cerakoted/whatever are not excessively worn (coating worn or worse, bare and shiny).
2) Barrel. obviously preferred clean and good rifling, although it can be replaced.
Controls, internals, springs etc can (and eventually should) be replaced.
more or less the same for long guns, need to inspect the action and/or receiver. Basically the serialized part and the expensive parts
Sent from my SIG Sauer
