The MODEL NUMBER on the grey plastic box tells the finish on the revolver.Thanks. I'm no help to him seeing as I know nothing about them, so I figured I would ask. It might be be silly, but His concern was that the box it comes in doesn't state SS, but if they never came in anything but, that would certainly make sense. I'll let him know.

My Vaquero is a very shiny stainless also. Never heard of a nickel played one - someone has surely done it though.

Yes, those are the $28 Altamont “bonded ivory” grip panels. Are those ALTAMONT GRIPS?
I have an identical pair of New Vaquero SS with 5 1/2" barrels and they have both Altamont grips and the original ones.
The WOLFF Spring Reduced Power kits really make them a lot easier to use.

I had 2 of those Bentley TYPE R in my shop all at one time.(a black one and a white one)Yes, those are the $28 Altamont “bonded ivory” grip panels.
The gun originally came with some star “checkered” panels - it is a Talo “Fast Draw” edition. I like the fake ivory better. Still have the originals though.
Nice vintage Bentley.
