May be resurrecting a dead thread, but I can't resist because I love metal. It's a tad new age for you OG metalheads, but anyone listen to Animals as Leaders? I'm on my phone so I dunno if this link will work.

This is excellent! And exactly why I started the thread. I'd never heard of these guys. Not exactly death metal though. I'd put them more in line with Dream Theater which is a major compliment. Extremely technical. I love that shit.

Definitely. One of my favorites. I've drummed for 6 years and I've been trying to learn this song for like 3 or 4 months. STILL trying haha. I dunno if you guys mind screaming or not but I have a couple other bands if you don't. More in the Death Metal/Deathcore kind of genre.

This band in general is just ridiculous. 3 guitarists, bassist, ridiculous drummer, and Spencer's clean vocals are ridiculous as well. Just overall a SUPER talented band. Still more of a progressive metal sound. Heavy's comin though. Hang on.

Here's a heavier deathcore band. There are no clean vocals, but the guitar and drums are mind numbing. Some of my favorite guitar work.
