So my uncle asked me to sight in a 243 for him.. no biggie I thought with a wallie world savage coming to mind. well when I get there he hands me a frigging Howa... the trigger on that thing is SEXY.

Now it gets fun... He also hands me his 30-06 and 30-30 asking me to clean/ zero them. mind you I'm not charging him so I think I'm obligated to atleast flip one of the scopes around.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to jerk with him short of painting his 30-30 pink?

A couple things come to mind here.

On the lighter side shoot every single round of ammo that he owns.

Move one scope as far forward as it will go. Hopefully that is far enough that the combo is darn near useless.

I was also thinking move one scope back and "scope" him but that could cause serious injury.

If you can take one round of ammo and replace the powder with black powder. That would sure cause some head scratching on his end.

Use nail polish to bedazzle his barrel, if it is blued and if it will not leave a stain after an acetone wipe... Ive got other stuff in mind but I better not post them here...

Whizz down the funnel to clean the bores.

Let the rust set in!

Problem is that we really haven't set a limit as to how far we can go, and with THIS crowd, that could get dangerous!

I might suggest filling the bore and chamber (so there's no chance he fires it blocked) with insulating foam.

If you can find an old, broken stock that will fit, break it a bit more, BADLY glue it together, and return the rifle with that.

If you can find cosmoline, you can pack it in that to "prevent rust".

Replace the scope with one of those little 4x .22 scopes.
