Boy, that Bush must be real smart, according to Libtards he's STILL RUNNING THE COUNTRY. Every issue, every decision, it's Bush this and Bush that. Gee....

Contrary to what some on the left here and elsewhere says, there may not have been that "stockpiles" of WMD's in Iraq. But there was evidence of gas manufacture, special missile carriers, and the assurance that Saddam was wanting to build up his missile range and capability. The five tons of Yellow Cake removed was old stuff, but it was there.

Add to that, people tend to forget that General Slick Willie actually sent missiles into Iraq to remove Saddam's "chemical weapons capability". Granted it was during the Lewinski matter but still.... Add to that, every democrat chimed in and wailed about the need to remove Saddam. In fact, General Wille actually declared it to be US policy to bring about regime change in Iraq. Further, when it came time to issue the final warning to Saddam, (essentially War), every democrat but one voted to proceed. That one was idiotic Kuchinich, who would vote against going to war with Hitler if he could. He wouldn't vote to swat a mosquito if it was sucking his blood.

We tend to forget too that in early 2001, due to the length of the Florida vote challenge, Bush was 2-3 months late selecting his cabinet. Remember too how Hill and Bill's people sabotaged the white house upon leaving, removing the keys to keyboards, and the silverware. Democrats still fought him tooth and nail, they were enraged over Florida, took endless days to approve his cabinet. They HATED Ashcroft because he was pro 2nd Amendment. I can still recall Ted Kennedy in a rage, blood vessels popping out, castrating Ashcroft.

Then the quest to pass Bush's first tax cuts. Demos moved into gridlock range. The Chinese seizing our spy plane, demos said they would have Bush for lunch. He handled it masterfully. Then the fascination with the missing intern, the congressman from Cal being a suspect (forgot her and his name).

All that precluded 9/11 where Bush was following the Clinton philosophy, and his CIA.

When 9/11 hit, it all changed, Bush got mad, the nation demanded action, even recently saw a video of Dan Blather on Letterman 9/12 and they were discussing how long before we attack Iraq. Liberals actually talking action? Who would have thunk it?

The rest, as they say, is history. (and too long for this post)

last but not least, doesnt a LEGAL AMERICAN TAX PAYING VOTING CITIZEN choose a candidate to vote for that will best benefit his or her family?? so again, WHY WOULD I VOTE FOR A CLOWN WHO WANTS TO GIVE MY TAX DOLLARS TO A BUNCH OF SLACKERS THAT DONT WANT TO WORK?????????????? if you call that self centered, than i guess 70% of this country is now self centered!! or maybe just maybe they dont want anymore of O-JACKA$$E$ SOCIALISM!! even the "Buyers Remorse" voters he had that have now realized thay made a horrible mistake believing his LIES!!

Actually I vote based on what the best direction for the country would be -- even if it may not benefit me personally. Because I'm not self-centered and I see the big picture.

um NEWSFLASH, Bush HASNT been the POTUS for 1-1/2 yrs now!

Newsflash to you too, skeeter. Fixing the eight years of bad policies and war profiteering contracts that are raping our country's bank accounts will probably take more than a single term in office. You know how Halliburton and KBR are taking the government for a ride out here because there was really no bidding done on any of these contracts and there is no oversight? Every time I swipe my CAC out here to get a meal we have KBR docking the government $40 for a plate. At three meals a day that comes out to $120 just for me to eat three squares in one day. There are about 70,000 troops here on the Victory Base Complex and at $120 a day that comes out to $8.4M/day or $3,066,000,000/year just for this base for food. You know how much KBR charges the government to wash one load of laundry? $99 per load. An entire box of detergent plus an ENTIRE uniform (minus the boots) WITH stripes and all alterations doesn't cost that much. Then you've got Halliburton who purchase 18 wheelers but doesn't purchase air filters or tires. You know what they do when their trucks break down because they don't buy BASIC parts for them? They set the trucks on fire and bill the government for a brand new truck.

Who used to be Halliburton's VP and had their lobbyists put them in the White House? I think you know.

This place is absolutely insane with the spending and guess who awarded these contracts to these clowns? Obama didn't create this financial mess and no one in their right mind could expect him to fix all of this in only a year and a half. Do I believe he's trying? I do. Then again, I voted for Ron Paul who I felt would have been the better man for the job.

My point is just this: All politicians lie. It's what they do. Democrats aren't any different than Republicans though Democrat lies tend to cost fewer lives. But if you feel the way you do about what small voice you have in our nation's politics, that being your vote, it won't matter if Republicans send people off to needlessly die for wars that do nothing to improve the security of our nation so long as your tax dollars aren't supporting soup kitchens and the Salvation Army.

I don't care to defend him, honestly, but in all fairness they were both pretty lousy. I gotta take the unpopular side here or you'd all get bored of the conservative circle-jerk and we'd all get real bored real quick. Lets be real here, skeeter. You can't bash the man for taking X number of vacation days when your buddy Bush takes 3X (or more?) vacation days. It kind of invalidates your argument and as someone said, they do actually work on those vacation days. It's not like they're down at the Schlitterbahn rocketing through a waterslide without a care in the world. ;) There are plenty of policies that he has that are valid reasons to bash the guy, bashing a guy for taking what few vacation days he takes with his family shouldn't be one of them. I imagine the job is stressful.

We could have sent it out for bids and if a French company won the bid, then you could have had Cognac with your Quiche.

Hallyburton was chosen because they were BIG enough to do the job, do it fast, and do it using American labor. When the guys and gals were racing into Baghdad they didn't want to have to stop the tanks and wait for drinking water.

Having some cognac with my quiche would be just fine out here. Best believe that. The size of Halliburton has nothing at all to do with the fact that there isn't any government oversight on these contracts. They get paid billions for the contracts and then bill the government on top of it because of wreckless, wasteful spending practices. They don't do that because they're a huge corporation, they do it because they're douchebags. ;)

Speaking of French companies -- here is a story, as I was told it. Theres a palace out here called the Victory Over America palace that Saddam contracted the French to begin constructing after the first Persian Gulf War because in his mind any conflict that he survives is a victory. Second Gulf War rolls around in 2003 and the palace still isn't complete, there are cranes around it that are still doing work on the palace when the U.S. comes rolling through and hits the palace with a couple of missiles. France says to the U.S. "WTF guys, our cranes are over there!!" so the U.S. says back to France "You can come and pick them up anytime." Those cranes are still here in 2010.
