And on another note, use it as an excuse for any abhorrent behavior you have always wanted to indulge in in front of lefty aquaintances and relatives, but had too strong of a moral upbringing to say out loud.
Sorry to hear that. Don't give up though. My neighbor had one two years ago. Several months in the hospital and rehab. You can't tell now. Still can't work, but nearly normal. You never can tell how they turn out.
Hate to hear that. A stroke is a pretty random thing - they cause damage but how much could be wildly different. Hopefully yours will be one with excellent recovery.
I had one about 10 years ago. I'm still a little weak and uncoordinated on one side. My speech was slurred for a while and still gets that way when I'm really worn out. Took me about a month to learn to write with the affected hand again.
That sucks man. The fact that you're still able to get on here and post is a good sign. It's going to take a lot of work, but you can get back to mostly normal with perseverance. Hang in there.
Prayers for you and yours, man. My son in law just had a stroke on 7-17, and we are learning, rapidly, about the ramifications. We just got him home from rehab last Monday.
Thanks for all of the kind words and wishes. Doctors at Methodist say It's about the size of a nickle, when viewed on/by scans. I guess I'm going with blind luck, that when all or most of the medications I was bombarded with wore off. I have motor control loss of about 40 - 50% for Right arm and leg. Some facial distortion and minor slurring, but not much else. Vision, hearing.smell are all ok . I Think a decent recover is in the works, we'll see.
