    my own personal experiences with both STI and S-V Infinity have been quite the opposite; STI is not even close to being in the same league with respect to components, build quality and continued service

    You would be the exception. Half again the price, a quarter the service, and two thirds of the reliability. I work on a lot of 2011 pattern guns, and most of the broken ones are SVI factory models.
