Which one of your "tacti-cool" rimfires is the most accurate and reliable ? I love 22's but only own 2 - ruger 10/22s and a ruger MKIII hunter. My 10/22 with a standard barrel puts them into about 2" groups at 50yds with cheap ammo and a 4x scope. The AR styled ones look awesome, but can they perform ? Thanks for sharin' any details - Texmex

The best accuracy I've seen, and it's only by a small margin, came with the SIG 522. The S&Ws need some trigger work, and that would probably make them the equal of the SIG.

The GSG is accurate enough for how I use it, but it wouldn't be a good choice for long-range sniping.

I have been in the market for a tactical .22 LR, but I can't decide between the GSG or Ruger SR-22.
    Ruger SR-22 Autoloading Rifle

The 10/22 platform is my first love, and the SR-22 can be found for around $450. That may sound high to some, but given the cost of the parts (Nordic chassis, stock, grip, fore-end and threaded barrel), it is really a great value.

Mine has proven to be very accurate and I can use all my 10/22 mags!!!

I feel cheated!!!! Where did you get that thing and how much was she?

I have a normal 1st anv., but I might have to order some replacement parts!!! ;)

    Sweet!

I'm curious why you used a bolt-on rail on the bottom of the Tapco stock... instead of the factory rail?

Well I haven't started my tacticool rifle collection yet but here is my happily family of rimfire pistols.

You might not believe it but after some tweaking the Tec-22 is the most reliable of the bunch. Only 1 failure in the last 1,100 rounds.

I am anxious to build my first .22LR AR. I love my co-worker's GSG. It's a blast.

I took off the rail cover, bolted on an aftermarket rail, then cut the front of the rail cover and attached with a small screw.......

I've always figured the bolt on rail attaches to a bunch of the plastic rails and then any accessory would attach to just a few metal rails ---the metal rail will spread the load --less chance of plastic rail damage......

Spikes Tactical upper, POF rail, 10.5" barrel, NFA Investments .22 Suppressor.

Below: The black holes are members of this spread that I shot. It was relatively rapidfire from a rest.

it took 100 1/4 MOA clicks to get up to the 100 yard target.

100 yard spread. Federal Bulk pack ammo is all over the place and incredibly inconsistent.

some of the rounds would be supersonic and some would be subsonic.

I plan on trying this again with a much more consistent brand of ammunition so I can see what this .22 barrel will do at 100 yards.

Nostromo: I use the advantage arms .22 upper on my glock 17. Its a great choice. have you suppressed yours yet?

I've been wanting a .22 supressor but dread the hassle. I would love to have one to put on the Tec-22. After fitting the mag and fabbing a bolt hold open that gun is a whole lot of fun and dead reliable.

Did you find your AA kit to be far more reliable than you would have thought possible? Stinkin thing just runs!

Ruger doesn't have a replacement front?

I'm not sure that anyone does. Nic Volq himself said that I would need a custom front sight to run his rear sights. The tapered barrels are oddballs. I should be in the garage making a front sight blank but I just spent a lot of time on a thumbrest safety for it so I'm done for the night.
