I certainly don't have the answers to how media is controlled, and I'm far from a defendant of the alt left or alt right, but him and Richard Spencer seem to get along quite well. The world would be a better place if both sides would disappear, but if you can't see the similarities, you just aren't looking.
I don't give any on the far right and far left credence, but both of them are considered leaders of the alt right (far right).
Are their tactics any different? Fascists are fascists, masked or unmasked.
At first, they were. They operated at night and/or wore masks. When they had the support of, or at least were tolerated by, the majority they got a lot more open about it.
Since assault, battery and vandalism is illegal, I would hazard a guess that is why they mask themselves.

That has been around a long time, I remember it from college in the 60's. I disagree as today as I don't think it's a horseshoe but rather it makes a full circle where the right and the left intermingle at which time you cannot tell the difference, in fact they take on all aspects of what is evil, no matter their views.
