Texas CHL - Track the Status

The background check went through on 1/27, and has been pending print, since.

That being said... it said absolutely nothing for status until 1/25 or so, at which point all of a sudden 10 of the 12 categories suddenly popped up green. I was concerned, so I even called DPS on 1/23 to confirm that they had everything they needed, because there was no indication on their system that I actually had submitted anything, where I spoke to a very professional young lady who assured me that they were ready to start the process.

They really should make the website status updates more granular.

Update: mailed today, so 13 day wait (I uploaded the CHL-100 late on 1/20) between application completion and shipment.

Fingerprints and background still showing "Under Review". I seriously don't know what could possibly taking so long. I have had two background checks done in the past two years, one for private security and one for TCOLE. Neither took even half this time. I carry a gun EVERYDAY for work... what is the deal!? What is there to "review"?

"They" are making it tough on me. I've had my CCL/LTC since 1996 (or whenever the first year was that you could get one). It was/is up for renewal the middle of this month. Back in November I found my DD214 and thought, well, I'll send all my stuff in with the DD214 and get ahead of the game. Got my LTC back a month later with the veteran's status on it and with an expiration date of Feb. 2017 (the same expiration date as before). OK, so no big deal (note to self; don't renew early or change status until you have to). Well I RE-applied the end of January for the renewal (with another payment, of course). Nothing, nada, etc. in as far as correspondence, etc. I sent them a message on their website inquiring what's going on, no response. I mean, it's not like it's a brand new license, etc. I've had it for over 20 yrs. (with no interaction with any authorities since a small citation for speeding in the early 80s). If our government is so damned inefficient, Texas or otherwise, people need to be replaced! Only correspondence I've had is with their auto-reply computer program. I'm gonna' be patient for a week or so then try to get in touch with someone. Sooooooo, until they take care of their business, I can't carry! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Feb 17 - Waiting for the damn mail carrier

18-19 days is not bad!

Dec 16 - Completed application online
Dec 19 - Fingerprints done
Dec 29 - Received notification from RSD that m instructor used an outdated CHL-100. Contacted instructor.
Jan 02 - Received updated CHL-100 from instructor and uploaded it.
Jan 02 - Fingerprints and Background Check "Under Review"
Feb 01 - Sent Case Rejection form for an arrest on a BS warrant in 2010. (They didn't ask for it, I sent it proactively so they couldn't come back and say they needed it, allowing them more time.)
Feb 20 - Print Pending

Mine said print pending for about 10 days. It finally updated to mailed on the same day it was delivered to my house.
