Grrrr I hate the wait on a renewal. Submitted mine on 7/18, just checked the website and all is approved but haven't seen it yet. I'm getting a little worried that it may have been lost.

I am print pending as of today. About how long do I have??

Mine was Print Pending for 10 days if I recall. Changed to MAILED and received it 3 days later.... so, 2 weeks til it's in your mailbox maybe?

Took exactly a week for me to change from "all docs received, background check under review" to "print pending".

Following is for a recent renewal application:

6 Oct 2016 - Fingerprints : Received
! Background Check : Under review
! License To Carry A Handgun : Print pending completion of application review

12 Oct 2016 - Background Check : Completed
! License To Carry A Handgun : Print Pending

15 Oct 2016 - License To Carry A Handgun : Mailed

As stated, this is for a renewal. Whether it means anything for an original license application I don't know. But nine days from prints received to sending the new license seems reasonably quick. I had to get new prints because, said DPS, "Prints on file could not be used".

I sent my LTC renewal (by snail mail) in three weeks ago with a check and my DD214. Received my new license end of last week. Doesn't take effect until February so I guess they just wanted to get it out of the way. I have the current license as well as my "February 2017" license in my wallet.

How do you mean it doesn't take effect until Feb 2017? I haven't seen a license with an issue date or "valid on" date. Is this something my students need to look for?

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. As I inspect the new one closer, it's exactly like the old one except it indicates "Veteran" on it and now says "License to Carry Handgun" instead of "Concealed Handgun License".
